In the Year of Fearless Baking: Episode #14: Chocolate, Vol. 2

Ugh. Well, there is really only one thing to say about my second attempt at tempering chocolate: I failed.

Everything seemed to be going well, but for one reason or another it just didn’t happen this time. My focus for this session was molding- I’m especially excited to figure out shell molding, which allows for things like salted caramel-filled bonbons to happen. Once I’ve got that figured out, I’m pretty sure the world is, as they say, my oyster.

But, instead of something pretty and shiny, what I got was big, bad streaks. Woof.

To be honest, this really bummed me out- hence, it took me a full week to post this little write up. And, while I’m definitely not giving up on chocolate, I’m going to take a break from it to avoid the kind of frustration that endangers the survival of personal projects like this one. Instead of banging my head against a wall, I would rather just enjoy it.

So, on to other things, but I’ll be back.
